DALTON ENGINE 1 - 1988 Pierce Saber.  750gal /1250gpm pump. 1st line piece. Structure Fires, General Alarms, Unspecified calls for service.

DALTON ENGINE 2 - 1996 Darley / Spartan Chassis. 750gal / 1250gpm pump. 2cd due. Mutual aid Piece. Ventilation, secondary Extrication Tool, 1st for chimney fires..

DALTON ENGINE 3 - 1974 International Primary used for water source, brush fires.

DALTON RESCUE 1 - 1996 Pierce Lance 500gal / 750gpm pump, Primarily 1st for car fires, MVC's, Rescue and Hazmat calls.

DALTON TRUCK 1 - 1974 American Lafrance 100ft Ladder. (Formally Pittsfield Truck 2), obtained April 15, 2009. Currently awaiting Refurb.  In service for calls.

DALTON TRUCK/BRUSH 6 1980'S Dodge Pick UP.   Used in brush fire responses.

ATV - Outlander 650 -2010 Can-Am. Double Seater 650HP. Used for Quick sizeup, FF Scout, Gen. Department Use

ATV - 6 wheeler -  Polaris, outfitted with removable 200gal tank for brush fires. Property of FIRE,POLICE and MEMA.  

DALTON CAR 1 - Ford Expedition. Used by the chief for general business, co alarms, and responses to calls for service.

DALTON 5 - 2007 Road Rescue Ambulance.  Basic Level responses to EMS calls.

The Dalton Fire Department has flooded the Ice Rink at the CRA. A tradition that was held for many years has been continued this year. With the cold tempatures, making ice has been easy. Volunteers, such as FF/EMT Dan Downer, Capt. Mike Cachat, Lt. Bud Hall and FF Frank Barnes among others have braved the chilly January night air to make the future Boston Bruins get there workouts.

The Dalton Fire Department is made up of members of the Dalton Firemen's Assn. Within the Firemens Assn is the Dalton Ambulance and Rescue.

The Firemens Assn are the owners of the Ambulance and Rescue 1. These are vital parts of the department. The Ambulance responds to over 500 calls a year with a basic ambulance. Couple that in with the personnel responding whom are all volunteers, thats extreme. The rescue responds to many calls and carries medical equipment, jaws of life, air bags, basic hazmat cleanup materials, foam, 500 gallons of water, stokes, defib and may other equipment.

Your tax money DOES NOT pay for either apparatus.

In addition to the Association owning the equipment, we also support many different groups in town. The CRA, School booster teams, elderly etc..   We also physically go out to events. Open houses, Community events - Triad, Prevention shows, School events....

The Association also gives out two scholarships to students whom want to pursue a carreer in fire or medical field. This is just the tip of what the association does.

The Dalton Fire Department is a Volunteer/On Call department available 24hrs a day. You can reach the Fire and Ambulance by touching 9-1-1 on your phone. For business calls you can call 413-684-0500.

Fire Chief Richard Kardasen is a Full Time fire chief and is available for business during the week days for 7am - 3pm. He also responds to emergencies during this period as well as after hours.
